Local boys make good. Or at least make weird. Director Freidrichs and producer Fehler kick off the T/F fest with this superbly crafted story about a musician from Texas named Jandek who has released 34 albums over 25 years, yet never played a single live show or even made a public appearance. No one even knows his real name. But from the bluesy, atonal music and haunting lyrics to the artist's steadfast seclusion and sheer longevity, everything about this man intrigues. Jandek on Corwood is the 89-minute documentary that explores the man, his world and his music.
