Popping out from underneath tables at a press conference isn't standard practice for documentary filmmakers, but when you're ten-year-old Chaille Stovall, sometimes you've got to bend the rules. Two years in the making, this film follows the 2000 presidential campaign trail from the New Hampshire primaries through the Florida recounts, as seen through the eyes of Chaille and his preteen camera crew (Zack Skipp, age 11 and Elizabeth Farrell, age 10). Utilizing any available opportunity, the trio blazed after the action, getting kicked out of an MTV Rock the Vote event in Los Angeles, and eventually scoring an interview with then-presidential hopeful, George W. Bush. With wry commentary and a curious eye, this movie sneaks a backstage view of a surprisingly unarmed political circus. (CL)
