In a profile film, the relationship between filmmaker and a charismatic subject can be messy. Sometimes the filmmaker comes under the spell of a powerful personality and can't help but make an advertisement for them; alternatively, if a director becomes more of a journalist, access can get denied and the film can be impeded.
