All regular films, master classes and events are $8, with tickets available for purchase in advance at our box office. Ten minutes prior to showtime, any remaining tickets will be sold at the door of the venue (see #5 below). The opening night film is $10. All panel discussions are free.
Full, Gold, and Silver Circle Passes will be available starting Monday, January 8th, via our website or in person at the Missouri Theatre (203 S. Ninth St.) with cash, check, or credit card (see #6-10 for specific pass details). Passholders will be able to reserve tickets to festival films and events beginning February 12.
Starting Wednesday, February 28, all passes and reserved tickets will be available for pickup at our Box Office at the Cherry St. Artisan. Box Office sales (passes and individual tickets) begin at noon on Thursday, March 1 (see #3 & 4 below).
The T/F Box Office is located at the Cherry St. Artisan, at the corner of 9th and Cherry St.
Box Office hours are noon to 10pm on Thursday, March 1; 9am to 10pm on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3; and 10am to 5pm on Sunday, March 4.
For passholders who have purchased their passes online or at the Missouri Theatre, there will be a special pass and ticket pick-up time on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 5pm to 8pm and Thursday, March 1 from 9am to noon. There will be NO SALES during this time.
Yes, but only 10 minutes before start time. By waiting to buy tickets at the door of the venue, you run the risk of the film being sold out. The best way to ensure that you have a ticket for a film that you want to see is to buy your ticket(s) from our Box Office at Cherry Street Artisan. Tickets for all films and events will be sold there until 15 minutes before start time. Then all remaining tickets will go on sale at the door of the venue 10 minutes prior to the film's start time.
A Full Pass is $65 and grants one person admission to any festival films Friday (March 2) through Sunday (March 4), as well as the opening night Reality Bites reception and the No Quarter party. Field trips and concerts — as well as films on Thursday (March 1) — are not included, and tickets for these events must be purchased separately.
A Gold Pass is $100 and grants one person admission to any films (Thursday, March 1 - Sunday, March 4), concerts, field trips (but a reservation is still needed), and parties (except the Filmmaker Fete).
A Silver Circle Pass is $200. This is the best way for an individual to support the future of True/False. It grants all the privileges of a Gold pass, six extra tickets for any Missouri Theatre screening (except opening and closing night). Silver Circle passholders also have preferred access to films at the Missouri Theatre, Blue Note, and Forrest Theater. NEW IN 2007: Silver Circle passholders will be able to reserve tickets starting February 11 — one whole day before other passholders.
Day passes are NOT available in 2007. However, we are offering a single-day ticket discount called "The Fiver" that functions in a similar way (see #10 below).
Note for high school & college students: High school and college students can get a taste of the fest for $20 with the STUDENT SAMPLER PASS. This pass will grant one student admission to 4 (of a selection of 8) films showing at the Missouri Theatre and the Blue Note. Check the True/False website for a list of the Student Pass films after February 12. These passes will be available in a limited quantity to high school and college students with a valid ID at the True/False Box Office starting Thursday, March 1.
All pre-festival pass sales (online and at the Missouri Theatre) end 2/23/07.
All passes (as well as reserved tickets) must be picked up at the T/F Box Office. (See #4 above for Box Office schedule.)
True. However, when you buy a Full, Gold or Silver Circle pass off of the website, you are able to reserve tickets prior to the start of the festival. From February 12* - 23, ticket reservations can be made online or at the Missouri Theatre. Ticket reservations will be honored in the order in which they are received. You reserve tickets will be waiting for you, along with your pass, at the T/F Box Office.
If there is a film you did not get a ticket to but would like to attend, you can always go to the venue and try your luck with the Q system (see #14). Your pass will get you in, space permitting.
Tickets held for a passholder must be picked up at least 15 minutes before the film's starting time.
*Feb. 11 for Silver Circle Passholders
With a Silver Circle you can walk up to any screening at the Missouri Theatre, the Blue Note, or the Forrest Theater and, as long as you're more than 10 minutes early, get a seat. While we encourage you to reserve tickets online and/or pick them up at the box office, your Silver Circle pass gets you off the hook if you forget. You also won't need to wait in line at any screenings. Just walk up to the ticket taker, flash your badge/tickets, and you're in.
At Ragtag, because of the venue size, things work a bit differently. Seats cannot be held at Ragtag for Silver Circle pass holders. All Ragtag tickets should be picked up at the T/F Box Office. Silver Circle pass holders without tickets for a film will be given seats at Ragtag on a space available basis. Bottom line — get your Ragtag tickets early. These screenings WILL fill up.
The Fiver is a great way to check out the fest if you can't spare your whole weekend, or you want to take friends/family to a film. For $30, you can get five tickets (in any combination) for Saturday OR Sunday. This single-day ticket discount is available only at the T/F Box Office at Cherry St. Artisan. There is no physical "Day Pass" and these cannot be purchased online. The Fiver is not good for any field trips, parties or concerts.
Tickets for Opening Night film are available from the T/F Box Office. If you buy a Full, Gold or Silver Circle pass online, you may request an Opening Night ticket when ticket reservations begin on Feb. 12.
Saturday night we're throwing a fundraiser reception/dinner at one of our favorite downtown restaurants, Sycamore. Almost all of our visiting filmmakers will be there, and it will offer festival attendees a chance to meet the filmmakers in an intimate setting while feasting on delicious food (prepared by chef Mike Odette) with an open bar. Tickets are $50 per person ($90 for a couple) and we will only sell 80 tickets, so don't delay. Tickets for this event can be purchased online. Should there be tickets remaining for this event as of Thursday, March 1, they'll be on sale at our Box Office. But we'll probably be sold out by then.
NRT stands for "No Reserve Tickets" and it means that all the tickets for a film have been requested or purchased. When this happens, there are no longer tickets available from the Box Office for a showing. We don't say "SOLD OUT!" because there is still a good chance you can get in at the door. Some of the people who reserved tickets inevitably don't show up, and we make those seats available for patrons at the door with our ingenious "Q" system. (See #14 below)
The "Q" is your chance to get in at the door of a movie for which you were unable to request/purchase a ticket. Beginning 30 minutes prior to the start of a film, eager movie-goers can get a "Q" number. With your "Q" number in hand, you can wander about or grab a cup of coffee instead of being bound to a line. Then, 10 minutes prior to the start of the film, you can resume your place in the queue (get it?) and the House Manager will release available seats 5 minutes prior to the start of the film. If there are 15 seats left, 1 thru 15 in the "Q" will get in, etc. There is no passholder priority in the Q line. Volunteers, ticket buyers, passholders... all are equal in the eyes of the Q.
For the record, there's never been a showing at the festival where nobody got in at the door. So, it's worth the effort if you really want to see a film. And rumor has it that the "Q" is a fun place to be — mingling with fellow festival goers.
Ticketing and box office details are probably the most complex aspect of organizing any film festival (far harder than, say, contacting filmmakers). We've done our best to make this relatively straightforward and understandable, but we know it may still seem a little murky. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email us (tickets@truefalse.org) or call our hotline (573-442-TRUE). We'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
