The First Annual Boone Dawdle was a ride to remember . . .



We tried staring into our event-planning crystal ball, but the thing about doing something for the first time is that it is, ultimately, inherently unplannable. One can only work to manage chaos and, jujitsu-like, redirect its energy towards the positive. What we have going for us, though, is a operations team that have earned their black belts in the movie arts, and we put ourselves to work attempting to pull off a giant day of bikes, food, slip n’ slides, music, movies, and a hundred delicious details.

Boone Dawdle Poster Released

The poster for the first annual Boone Dawdle has just been released. Internationally known watercolorist Frank Stack has teamed up with his alter-ego, the underground cartoonist Foolbert Sturgeon, to create a one-of-a-kind poster for the inaugural Boone Dawdle. Star of Best Worst Movie to Appear at Boone Dawdle

We've just received word that the affable George Hardy, the small-town dentist star of Best Worst Movie (and Troll 2), will be in person at the Boone Dawdle on Saturday, August 21. George will appear alongside alongside director/child star Michael Paul Stephenson during the Q&A immediately following the screening of the film.

George Hardy, the small-town dentist star of Best Worst Movie (and Troll 2) will be in person at the Boone Dawdle to answer your questions (alongside director/child star Michael Paul Stephenson).

Since our start in 2004, True/False has been a crocus that pops out of the ground as the Missouri winter gives up the ghost. But as we get the hang of this movie+party thing, we're feeling like Columbia could use some some True/False-iness at other times of the year. With that in mind, we want to stake a claim on one of your late summer nights, specifically Saturday, August 21.

Holy Wars Returns to Columbia

The Crossing will host a free screening of Holy Wars this Friday, April 30 at 7:00 pm. Recently seen at T/F 2010, Holy Wars follows the interaction between an Irish convert to Islam and a conservative American Christian intent on evangelizing the world’s Muslims. Director Stephen Marshall will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion.
