In person: the directors
A simple conceit — that receding glaciers (due to global warming, natch) might reveal new veins of gold — leads to a tale rich with manly derring-do and some serious adventure in the Great White North. Our hero, obsessed with striking it rich, recruits high school buddies and would-be mountain men to follow him into the bush and, they hope, to the discovery of a lifetime. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems. This is documentary filmmaking at its most exuberant, with lively characters, swooping narratives and a rocking score. (DW)
